A range of quality 'amateur radio' transceivers are manufactured by TenTec

TenTec DIRECT UK have been supplying TenTec equipment in Europe since July 2002. We can supply the HF receiver range (CE approved), kits and the Jupiter and Orion HF transceivers (CE approved). The Argonaut-V and 526 transceivers have not been submitted by TenTec for CE approval so cannot be offered for sale in Europe by TenTec at this time... however dealers may individually self-certify products such as the Argonaut-V and offer them for sale.

It is illegal for a commercial company to sell non CE approved products, but you could of course
consider a direct import from the USA:
