AOR PC-MANAGER for Windows

IBM-PC management for the AOR AR8000 receiver

PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS is an easy to use software package for the IBM PC compatible computer and AOR AR8000 or AR2700 hand portable radio receivers. Many facilities are provided including control of receive frequency, mode. attenuator plus access to memory & search banks for easy editing, upload and download... it is even possible to edit the auto mode bandplan data using a text based window display presenting the data in a friendly and understandable format. Add to this unattended record to your PC's hard drive (sound card required) & spectrum display and your hand portable receiver forms the centre of a complete monitoring installation.

Managing frequencies is really easy with PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS. The software uses an RS-232 serial port of a PC to communicate with the AR8000 or AR2700 receiver via the optional CU8232 interface unit (a serial cable is also required). PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS will operate under Windows95 or Windows 3.xx including Windows for Workgroups, a printer is required for certain features.

Data may be saved to disk or cut /pasted through Windows Clipboard for exchange with other software packages and applications.

No text editing is required between upload and download... PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS formats the data automatically for upload and download of data. The data fields may be automatically checked for invalid data before being passed to the receiver preventing any unexpected problems arising.

If travelling to other world destinations, PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS will enable you to tailor the auto mode bandplan data (mode & step size) to ideally match the local requirements. Should the current "home" bandplan change in a significant manner, once again PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS will allow simple and specific changes to be made without needing return to a workshop!

Note: The AR2700 is fitted with a ribbon cable socket identical to the AR8000 so should simply connect and operate in the same manner (if a 4-pin socket is fitted to the AR2700, the IF-ADP will be required - please contact your dealer). Exact commands for the AR8000 / AR2700 are slightly different and are listed on the CU8232 leaflet revision 2.0 and in the 16 page CU8232-AR2700 supplement.

A download demo of PC-MANAGER for WINDOWS is available from this web site. The file is about 850 Kbytes, each session of the demo is restricted to 10 minutes then you have to re-start from the icon, being a demo, the save facility is disabled.

Computers "always" generate RF noise which may interfere with the receiver's reception especially if the standard set top aerial is used.

To reduce the effects of noise, use of a remote aerial is highly recommended with good quality 50 OHM coaxial cable employed.
