DISCONTINUED - no more stock 2006

DDS-2A FRONT VIEW

Exclusively for the Collins KWM-2, 75-S and 32-S.  Offers superior frequency stability and accuracy to your favourite radio.

The DDS-2A from AOR is a micro-processor controlled external VFO for the Collins KWM-2(A) and the S-Line, including 75S-3B and 32S-3. The DDS-2A uses the latest DDS and PLL technology to produce accurate and clean local signal injections for the Collins radio. The DDS-2A replaces an original PTO and HFO in the radio.

The DDS-2A combines the latest device architecture that offer many additional features to your favourite Collins radios.

Enhance the performance by the latest DDS/PLL technology...

Exiting Features:

  • Excellent Stability - TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) in the unit offers extremely stable (5PPM) local signal for your Collins Radio.

  • Pin-Point Frequency Accuracy - NCO (Numeric Controlled Oscillator) driven DDS/PLL provides 1Hz pin-point frequency accuracy for transmit and receive.

  • General coverage - Low noise PLL HFO enables an operation on all bands including new WARC bands and short-wave broadcast bands, except 5.0 - 6.6 MHz range not recommended in the Collins manual.

More Features:

  • Memory channel - 100 channels are provided for instant access to the important frequencies. (Manual settings of the band selection/tuning are required for the Collins.)

  • BFO shift Compensation - The DDS-2A provides BFO shift compensation to obtain true frequency display. A 455kHz of the reference frequency can be compensated up to 9.999kHz in 1Hz accuracy for both the USB and the LSB.

  • Computer control - Standard RS-232C serial communication port is provided for remote control through your PCs.

  • Easy Installation - The DDS-2A can be installed to the KWM-2 without any modifications to the radio. The unit can also be installed to the S-Line (75S/32S) with some modifications. The DDS-2A uses an inch size optical encoder for the VFO dial, so you can replace the knob to an original spinner knob.

  • Traditional finish - Full metal construction matches to the Collins Radio in similar tone of colours for a front panel, a trim and covers.
